Song of the day(s): Angus and Julia Stone ‘Just a Boy’

Oh I love this song. Our Europe trip is more than good, little time to chill and blog but next to all the awesome work and meeting awesome people, there’s time for tunes :)

P.S. Follow me on instagram @antoniaheil , I post a few pix of my travels every day :)

Watermelon salad & goodbye South African winter and hello European summer

I’m so ready for summer. I got a new hair cut, new sandals and my nails are painted mint green, I AM READY FOR SUMMER. So in a few days I will shoot a lovely winter wedding on South Africa’s west coast with Desmond and then fly off to Germany, Norway, Switzerland and France. Thanks for checking in on my blog, I’ll blog from Europe depending on internet, inspiration and online-addiction :) Desmond and I will most likely blog from dnaphotographers.com, so check in there!
Much love, Antonia

Oh and I can’t wait to make this easy recipe for my family in summery Germany.

‘Nothing says summer like watermelon! Slice watermelon into approx 1 inch rings, then remove the rind from each slice with a small knife. Place one watermelon “round” onto each salad plate, then top with a layer of thinly sliced fresh mozzarella (5 pieces?), followed by a layer of finely chopped mint, basil (approx 1/4 c each) and a sprinkling of nuts (I used almonds and walnuts, but you can use any kind). Drizzle with a bit of olive oil and sea salt before serving. Enjoy with a fork and knife- a light yet filling salad!’

50 days 50 meals

50 days 50 meals is an initiative involving conversation, consumption and compilation. With food as a universal language, we intend to engage individuals from multiple socioeconomic backgrounds using the bistro table as common ground. Everyday for 50 days, we will seek out an individual/family with whom there is no connection (perfect stranger) and engage with them by either purchasing and/or preparing a meal for them.’ Awesome idea.

The Barn – coffee shop in Berlin

Desmond and I will spend a whole week in Berlin at the beginning of September, we are so pumped. Sooo… as we always need great coffee, I found The Barn, a spot where we will most definitely chill.
